About Me

Nice to meet you!

I'm Yorick, a curious and driven student in Software Engineering based in Zwolle. I love solving problems with code and turning ideas into working software.

Learning new things and applying them in real-world projects motivates me. Whether it’s frontend or backend, I enjoy building solid, user-focused solutions and working in teams using methods like Scrum.

Outside of my studies, I work on freelance web projects and keep exploring new tech. I aim to grow every day and contribute with dedication and creativity.

Experience

Software Engineer Intern

djurve

2025

Developed a generic web editor for microservices architecture, contributing to software development tasks and learning professional workflows in a team setting.

During my internship at Djurve in 2025 for my semester WebDev, I had the opportunity to create a web editor that seamlessly integrates with various microservices, making it a breeze for employees to draft instructions. I implemented an HTML diff tool to tackle those pesky styling issues and designed a user-friendly document preview complete with a straightforward navigation bar for effortless browsing.

I took on full-stack responsibilities, fine-tuning the backend, refreshing the database, and developing a custom blob storage solution for images. I also made frontend components using Svelte and TypeScript. Working in a small Scrum team of two fellow students and two stakeholders, I contributed to gathering requirements, conducting research, designing, and reviewing code. Additionally, I wrote unit and frontend tests using Playwright and collaborated on creating a shared library to ensure the editor functions consistently across all microservices. This internship truly provided me with invaluable hands-on experience with Azure, modern workflows, and the essence of teamwork. Some of these piplines architecture I still use for other projects. Looking back, I learned a lot and it was a genuinely fun and rewarding project.

Bachelor of ICT - Software Engineering

During my Bachelor's in HBO-ICT Software Engineering at Windesheim, each semester involved a project of at least 10 weeks, completed in project groups. This gave me valuable experience with Scrum, teamwork, and communication with stakeholders, product owners, and colleagues. The program strongly emphasized functional and technical design before implementation, which helped me improve my planning, analysis, and problem-solving skills. I primarily worked with C#, with some exposure to Java, PHP, and Python. Even though I’m still completing my degree, the structure and variety of semester projects have provided a solid foundation in software design, collaboration, and practical development. Overall, I’ve learned a lot and strengthened both my technical and professional abilities.

These are my semesters:
